Life is a Strategy Game

Hi everyone,

Life is a strategy game ending in a definite result. How are you winning at life? What are your strategies? Are they working? Are they failing you? Is it time to change your course?

Nothing in this life is a given.  There are no extras, or freebies. Life at times comes at you with a series of surprise attacks. You can get sick, you can loose your job.  These occurrences  can create chaos, and confusion. Having a foundation(solid plan), something to fall back on can help you deal with the unpredictabilities. Having a strategic map allows you to regroup, start over, and grow from these experiences.  You adapt, and move on. Please know that even with the best laid out plans you still can be side tracked.  That’s life. According to Forrest Gump life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re going to get.  That may be the case, but you don’t ever have to be a passive bystander, waiting for things to happen.

Are you prepared for those times?  Your strategic plan can prepare you for the good, bad, and ugly days.  What is your plan? Believe it or not,  our success stories have involved some of our best strategies in play.

How do we develop a strategy?  The vast majority of organizations have well defined strategic plans. The result of these exercises  provide forward movement and provide sustainable, even superior returns.

Here are a some tips to keep in mind when developing your strategies:

  1. What’s important to you?
  2. Where do you want to be? Career(s) Financially, Relationships, Health, Hobbies, etc.
  3. What are your objectives, your end goals?
  4. What are your timeframes, target dates?
  5. Your strategy needs to be seen and be used as building blocks.  Write it down, and keep track of it.

If this seems complex, include the ones that work for you, and exclude the others.  Keep in mind your strategy is your strategy and it can be as simple as creating a list, and checking it off.  I’ve heard that the most successful people have kept lists.  My point is that it’s valuable to map out your life and your plans.  You’ll get to your destination quicker!!

Create a bold strategic plan!!! I dare you.

Please share your thoughts and ideas on this topic. We can all learn from each other. Thank you.
